This is not a fake rating but only relates to the owner's responses to negative ratings and is therefore not related to the lockdown. Anyone who perceives factual criticism from dissatisfied customers as personal insults and then reacts in a huff with personal insults and threats (from advertisements) has amply earned the 1-star ratings. For this reason alone, one should avoid such a restaurant as this behavior cannot be tolerated. In addition, an excessive arrogance is displayed here that has nothing to do with the topic. Who cares that supposedly 8 languages ​​are spoken when the original statement was that the service was underground? This is anything but professional but simply embarrassing.

Arrogant service. Veg option is taking sides at full prices. Positive comments below are same style done be owner. I guess you may comment as fake again... Nice to see the answer illustrating your arrogance.

Even in the lockdown light, simply great food and atmosphere. Hopefully there will be the full experience again soon.

Came to Hicham with no premonition and were more than surprised! Exactly what Tübingen was missing: a very relaxed atmosphere, exotic tastes and a very courteous and proud restaurant owner. We will be back.

It was an unforgettable evening in a wonderful setting. If you are in Tübingen, you should definitely reserve a table there. It is an explosion of taste that is worth every penny. I especially want our waiter and cook Hicham Hidam. highlight, who accompanied us through the culinary evening with a lot of attention without being intrusive. Go there and enjoy the great ambience to the full.

Take your time and let yourself into the special atmosphere, then you can experience a very nice evening. We enjoyed it. The menu has so many different tastes that there was something for everyone during the evening. We found the "cell phone ban" to be very pleasant.

Food was good but took forever to get. The owner destroyed the experience. He lectured you from the start and ranting about you have to respect that it is his living room and his food etc. The owner constantly talking at the table about nonsense. He went bananas when I took a picture and I had to delete it. He was really rude to costumers. The food was good, but I would never go back.

We had a great evening. Not everything is perfect, but a very hard-working (and a bit headstrong) host. If you have a lot of time, you can enjoy a great evening with delicious food.

Are you completely relaxed and taking your time for a breathtaking meal. Then you've come to the right place at le Rosmarin or la medina. No stress, what do I order from the menu. Let the ingenious cook and owner surprise you and spoil your palate. Worth it !!!

It was just a perfect evening. For my birthday I invited my girlfriend to le Romarin and I was more than surprised. We were simply spoiled by the ambience, the absolutely perfect 7-course menu, the service and the loving, warm hosts. It was more than a pleasure for us and will definitely treat us again. Thank you for the amazing evening.

The food was delicious in itself, but the atmosphere was very overwhelming. The boss quarreled with guests and discussed with them, so that the whole place noticed. He was very rude towards other guests, which made us feel very uncomfortable too. You had to wait an extremely long time for the food. Not recommendable.

Taste experience Had heard a lot of good things before my visit. But my expectations were exceeded. A real first-class taste experience. Recommendation: Go in a group of at least 6 people and leave the choice of dishes to the waiter. You will not regret it !!! Just great.

Great concept and impressive performance! It is an incomparable culinary journey that should not be missed. You can tell if you have allergies or are vegetarian / vegan. Everything is taken into account. Bring a lot of time and leave your cell phone at home. I will definitely be back.

This restaurant is an absolute must, for all people who like to eat very well and want to spend a really great evening in a different setup. The owner and cook is a true artist of international cuisine. His team is great. Bring time and openness and you will spend an incomparable evening.

I called and made a reservation on Monday for Friday. The owner asked also a SMS to have my data and the time we would come on Friday. He asked me to prepare myself for an amazing culinary experience, he informed there is no menu, but he brings food, depending also on our preferred tastes and allergies etc. I send the sms and the reservation was made for Friday. On Friday, after having payed the parking costs we stood under the rain infront of a closed restaurant!!! Nobody ever informed us that it would be closed - but nevertheless, it is always expected from the client to call to cancel a reservation.. I tried to call on the number hanging on the door, it rang just once, then silence. Unacceptable behaviour from a restaurant, which wants to consider itself among the best culinary experiences of the region... Totally unprofessional! Of course we will not support this kind of behaviour ever again, no matter how good the food can be.

Fantastic service, highly professional, unusual flavors and nice Owner.

The food and service was great. The head chef/owner went out to every table and greeted his guests which made us feel like we were at his home. We also had the pleasure of seeing his kitchen after having asked for permission. We were astonished by the fact that the kitchen was unusual. We therefore could barely comprehend how he is able to cook for so many guests. I highly recommend the wine pairing, it definitely added to the meal. Be prepared to spend a nice time and at least 2 hours dining here. You will enjoy the experience. We also do not think that this restaurant is not suitable for those who want to constantly take photos. This restaurant is for those who know how to enjoy dining.

The food was not the only thing that astonishes this restaurant! Of course, I like to try new restaurants and I am constantly looking for new restaurants, but I will remain loyal to this restaurant. I haven't been so fascinated by an inn in a long time. The simple decoration on the tables and in the entire restaurant is sensible and tasteful. The place is always very clean and all in all the place gives a nice impression. It was really great. The correctness of the owners are really impressive.

We truly enjoyed a romantic evening here. The food was delicious, the way in which the chef combines the ingredients is unique. We felt spoiled here and left the place with more than full bellies but with a new favourite place to dine out. What we also appreciated here was the fact that one is not allowed to use their smartphones to take photos or such. I think we were pleasantly reminded what it means to enjoy a dinner with the beloved one. My husband and I appreciated this because we often see how people nowadays just take photos of the places their are seeing without taking the time to fully savour the experience. And here we got the chance to reconnect with times in which the partner is more important than looking into the phone. The service is attentive and gives good wine recommendations. We spent a lovely evening in this restaurant for Valentine's Day. It was truly an unique experience. The chef's creations were indeed delicious and we felt pampered here. The wine recommendations fitted the food perfectly, the atmosphere was very much welcoming and warm. The staff was more than helpful when they explained us their concept as it is a rather flamboyant one. They also spoke fluently English which made it easier for us to tell them which ingredients my husband cannot tolerate. The chef takes this very much in consideration and even prepares something extra. We also appreciate the fact that no smartphones are allowed here. When we want to dine out, especially on such a romantic occasion, we want to enjoy the presence of our friends or, in this case, of my husband. One seldomly gets the opportunity nowadays to connect with each other without being distracted by smartphones. Regarding the price, it was more than fair for what we had received. As such, we cannot comprehend how some guests complain about this place. If one does not like to be pleasantly and culinary surprised, then there are many other options. Also, the staff went to all tables during the whole evening asking whether everything was ok. If one does not speak and express themselves, then one should also not complain afterwards. All in all, we experienced amazing food, an unique culinary concept and we will definitely come here again.

There's no menu available. Everyone has no idea what they were going to eat and how much they were going to pay. We were really puzzled because this is the basic rights of customers. When we asked for the menu and the price, the staff said she didn't know what the chef would prepare today. Then my partner wanted to show me something on his phone. The chef came out and told us very boldly mobile phone is forbidden in this restaurant. Seriously I felt like a student at school when he said that. Under all confusions in our head the dinner started slowly at 8pm. Food were unique and some were fantastic. Well, main dishes still came up until 10:45pm. The dinner was officially finished at 12pm. Other customers said they enjoyed it because it's a pleasure to have ''surprise''. It's definitely NOT the case to me. I really felt uncomfortable under the rules, the control of the boss and the extremely long dinner time->not showing the menu and the price. I can see the chef is a very self-confident person and he is really good at cooking. If he would be more considerate and try to cater for the needs of customers, I'm sure his restaurant would be a success. If you are someone who enjoys to have surprises like this, you can come to have a shot. But we will definitely NOT go there again.

What a wonderful place to spend a nice and neat evening. Not so out of the way that you feel uncomfortable, but still a good atmosphere. Exquisite food, an incredibly large selection of wines and perfect service.

Like a Holiday in Tübingen ! Absolutely wonderful from start to finish!

This has been our 4rd visit to Le Romarin - we love it. On our first time the chef asked if we would like to order from the menu or if we would like his suggestion. We opted for the later and each visit he has provided mouth watering food - every bite. It looks beautiful too. On our first two visits we had our children with us - he was so accommodating with kids and they loved his food. Everything is fresh and he does it all himself so if its busy be prepared to wait - it is worth it

We were here last Sunday, the restaurant had Swabian and Asian week. You can only say the following: Food very delicious and nice atmosphere in the restaurant, you feel comfortable spending time :) here you can recharge your batteries. Please bring along time, bring huge hunger and patience, because the boss masters everything alone. Everything is freshly prepared and new dishes are offered every week. The special thing about it is that you have no card but everyone is allowed to comment on what you feel like. Little things are considered here. The last thing you should keep in mind is that you have a mobile-free zone here. So you can concentrate on everything else, from food to society. And at the end you pay a fair price for this culinary experience.

Great concept. All guests start the multi-course menu almost at the same time. The atmosphere is like a big family dinner: casual, comfortable, pleasant. You should keep the whole evening free. The patience is rewarded by a very delicious and varied menu. Just trust the cook and enjoy the evening.

A quaint place close to home for us, well if you like fruits in all your courses , it’s a place for you ! Being a Malaysian / British married to an German / Italian , just coming out of Dubai 2 month ago after 10 years with 4 kids , I would say our expectations can sometimes disappoint us . Food was good, nothing exceptional but clean flavours . The host’s mannerism was something new for me to palate ! Not my best Tübingen restaurant for sure !

First time here at the recommendation of some work colleagues. We have just left this restaurant and I must say, this has been a tremendous experience for us. The flavours were combined in such an original manner, we have never tasted anything similar. The price-quality rapport is more than fair. One truly receives a dining experience here, without any time pressure, and the possibility to enjoy the food, the drinks, the company. Which brings me to some reviews I have recently read. I simply cannot comprehend how some people write that the food or that the character of the owner leaves place for improvement. The owner and chef has been nothing than welcoming towards all the guests. And the fact that we get to interact with the owner and chef in same person who comes to the tables and still finds time to ask whether everything is ok or even to so salute is much more than one usually gets in a restaurant. This unusual experience, but definitely positive, has convinced us to come more often. We have never found a similar place up until now. Those who complain on a regular basis will of course also criticise as they cannot do anything else.

Great food and atmosphere. This is definitely the best restaurant in Tübingen, the food is fabulous and the chef is one of the most entertaining characters I have met. You definitely need time, at least 4hrs but it is worth it. A great night out, with lovely food and a wonderful atmosphere. It is extraordinary how one person can create such a wonderful experience for a fully booked restaurant. The taste buds are simply spoiled with ordinary ingredients combined in an original way. Those who complain that it takes too long, I would advise to either stay at home or go out somewhere else.

A great experience! On a Friday or Saturday evening you have to bring about 4 hours of time but the evening is really entertaining with 7 courses. All courses tasted really good. It is a basically down-to-earth kitchen but with a partly fascinating spice and herbal notes. A heart and soul run restaurant that is fun!

I went with my husband the month of September 2019 on the spot, we found it really fantastic! Attendance, organization, cleanliness, quality of food, drinks, piped music. It really is a restaurant selected and with excellent standard of quality. Congratulations!

Wow!!! The food was incredible, the service outstanding!! After, a long long day of sightseeing this place was the perfect ending to our day trip to Tübingen! It all started with meeting our amazing chef, he recommended the best dishes that would fit what we wanted that evening. And let me tell you that, OMG it was just incredibly good!! Not only the food, but when the chef/waiter/entertainer brought out his dessert, he just stole our hearts! The chocolate dessert is a must to try!!!! Very light, delicious and just breathtaking food that left with full mouth of amazing memories about our evening in Tübingen!!!! Highly recommend this place!!!!!

This was the best dining experience I have had in this region of Germany. Indeed the owner made us feel at home speaking fluently German, English and French depending on which of the guests he was speaking with. We told him ahead of time we had just from 7-10 pm and the timing was great. I only wished I had more time. I loved that the group that I was with was more engaged in conversation than they were in their cell phones. The food was delicious and the very little we could not finish he packed up for us. I love this place and wish for all my friends in Tuebingen that they gift themselves the time to enjoy this excellent restaurant!

Likely the best restaurant in Tübingen. I came with my parents for my birthday and had a great time, excellent food, and kind service from the owner/chef. Make sure you are ready for a 4-5 hour experience, sit back, be open-minded, and enjoy the ride.

You do not enter le romarin as a customer to be served by a waiter, eating food you choose made by a cook you never see, at a time of your choosing. Rather, you are a guest in the house and will be greeted by the owner, who will recommend you a course to enjoy he will prepare for you and who -dareIsay- lovingly cares for you while you are within his halls. The experience is unlike any I've ever had. And why would I ever chose the meal myself? That I can do in any restaurant, that's not the point. In his domain I am a blind man next to him, so all the better to lean back, trust and enjoy. I can wholeheartedly recommend a first visit (for the following, you will not need a recommendation. You will recommend). Dieser Man ist dein Hirte, ES WIRD DIR AN NICHTS MANGELN. True, you *can* judge le romarin in market norms ("I am a customer in a restaurant, I pay for a service of my choosing, I value my time and so should the cook"). Then you may even have suggestions how to improve on customer relations, better value, yaddayaddayadda. But if you do, you are not only missing out, you are also -more critically!- missing the point. MacDonald's has all that figured out. That's not why you go to a Michelin Star Cook who balances his -our!- small world on his shoulders checking on his guests while he makes the most amazing magic happen in the kitchen. You go because of the adventurous, fantastic and enjoyable journey!

An unbelievably good restaurant which is worth a visit to Tübingen alone. The host is extremely passionate about his food and generous as well. If one is relaxed and brings enough time (~4h) then it feels like a small holiday.

Very special experience. Dont ask for a menu - the host will surprise you! Bring time and patience, and you will be amply rewarded. Dinner (plenty of courses and food!) including wine around 50€ per head.

One of the best restaurant experience ever!

The food was decent and expensive. The owner was putting his nose in every table and interrupting the privacy of customers usually with nonsensical and or rude comments. Also you can expect misunderstandings either between you and the waiter - owner or between the real waiter and the owner. Last thing - if all of these reasons cannot make you change your mind, then consider that you will spend at least 4-5 hours, because that's the average time you will need from sitting at the table until paying for the check.

Great food and ambience. A very personalized experience always. The chef / owner is very creative with food and his passion is reflected in the taste. Also excellent value for money. Keep your night free and dont be in a rush because you'll be eating the whole night.

I visited le romarin on the evening of Saturday, 03.03.2018, and witnessed a shocking incident there. The host lost his temper in a conversation with a couple seated at one of the tables and, in a fit of rage, shouted personal insults at the couple before expelling them from the restaurant. No matter what the circumstances, I believe that this kind of behaviour is obnoxious and totally unacceptable.
